2025/04 – Nether Seal Successfully Passes SIL3 Functional Safety Certification

With the rising safety awareness among the general public, there has been an increasing emphasis on product quality and safety, particularly in the field of fluid control, where stable long-term operation and reliable operational safety are paramount. To meet market demands, enhance the quality assurance of our valves, and uphold a customer-centric service ethos, Nether Seal took proactive action by initiating the SIL3 certification process for its valves. Recognizing that achieving these objectives requires comprehensive support, the company reinforced internal management, improved employees’ professional skills, continuously upgraded equipment, and optimized assessment methods, working across multiple dimensions—from management to technology and from personnel to equipment—to lay a solid foundation for the SIL3 certification endeavor.

After meticulous preparation and steady progress, in 2025, Nether Seal successfully passed the audit and inspection for SIL3 functional safety certification conducted by experts from ECM, a notified institution authorized by the European Union. By the end of April, Nether Seal had successfully obtained the SIL 3 Product Functional Safety Certification issued by ECM. This achievement is of great significance, representing the result of months of engineering design, quality assurance reviews, and audits, and providing operators with the highest level of safety assurance.

SIL (Safety Integrity Level) is a standard for measuring the performance of safety systems, quantified in terms of Probability of Failure on Demand (PFD). The higher the SIL level, the greater the safety level, and the lower the likelihood of system malfunction. SIL3 is the highest level that can be granted to valves. Obtaining SIL certification signifies recognition of product quality and safety, enhancing a company’s market competitiveness and boosting customer confidence in its products.

The acquisition of this certificate demonstrates that Nether Seal’s product quality complies with international safety standards, marking the company’s products as having received authoritative recognition in terms of product design, system operation, and physical product quality, meeting the requirements of the IEC EN 61508 standard. It is equivalent to obtaining another “passport.” Moreover, passing the SIL3 safety integrity level indicates that the company’s products meet the highest safety standards required for instrumentation in petrochemical process production. The attainment of the SIL3 certificate fully proves the high reliability of Nether Seal’s valve products, laying a solid foundation for expanding their application areas.

Taking this opportunity, Nether Seal will leverage its advantages in product technology, branding, and resources, adhere to technology leadership, deeply implement an innovation strategy, and aim at market demands and world-class standards. Nether Seal will continue to develop leading new technologies and high-end products, further enhancing its core competitiveness and market share, while exploring in-depth performance optimization and service upgrades.
